It was one of those weddings that made me smile from beginning to end. Their story? They met 43 years ago in a pub back home, and she made the first move. She was a dancer with the Moulin Rouge and had the confidence out of this world. I mean, look at her. I get it. They started a family, and that family grew and they now have the most precious granddaughter. It was a year after her birth that her grandparents decided to get married. Brilliant right? They had the most beautiful intimate wedding at The Cliff Restaurant on the serene shoreline. They waited 43 years for the perfect day, and they got it.Read More
I don’t think I've seen a cooler bride. She popped the champagne with precision and a massive grin :-) In fact, that grin never left her face. From the moment she opened the hotel door, to the time we hugged to say our goodbye’s she was all smiles.Read More
I always get a bit nervous when I photograph another photographer - don't we all? Brad contacted me from Denver as he was getting married to the sweetest person on earth (she actually really is!) and wanted to surprise her with a photoshoot with me. I was beyond thrilled.Read More
I could hear her smile in her first email to me. She was happy, and in love, and I could feel it. When we met on Skype it was confirmed. The phone was ringing and when i hit that green circle, there were not one, but two beautiful smiles on the other side of the screen. We were like old friends hanging out.Read More
I met them over a year ago on the Oistins fish market Pier. Their smiles were bigger than I’d ever seen, and they were ready to have fun (my kinda people). I knew from their engagement session their wedding was going to be incredible.Read More
We made our way to Mango Bay Hotel on 2nd Street in St. James to meet the absolutely stunning bride before the wedding. She wanted us to document the day. That's it. No posing, no directing, underscoring the same perspective I have of a wedding day - that it was not a photoshoot. YES!!Read More
We exchanged emails for a few months before we chatted on the phone about their engagement session. From the moment I said “Hi, this is Aniya!”, it was like we were old friends chatting. I wouldn’t have it any other way.Read More
There is something about them that is very calming, cool, relaxed and easy. They came to our engagement session with a beer in hand - my kinda people. We had an awesome time, and i knew great things were in store for their wedding.
And so I was right.
In all my weddings, I think she was the one who surprised me the most. Due to intense travel on both our sides, I wasn't able to meet Alice until the morning of the wedding. I knocked on her door of the beautiful Nelson Gay Villa in St. Peter, Barbados, and she greeted me with the coolest transparent face mask. It was hilarious. I knew at that point, she kicked ass, and we were going to have the best time together. She didn't disappoint. Cooly taking a swig of her whisky before walking out, dancing like there's no tomorrow to the sounds of Dj Chilly, jumping in the pool and dancing some more, this was one bride who didn't give a flying you know what.Read More
